Isle of Wight bank holiday break

Beach houses, Ventnor Beach by Anthony Greentree. Sketch and watercolour
Wooden steps, Ventnor Beach
Deckchair, Ventnor Beach
Friday was a very wet and windy day for traveling on a ferry across to the Isle of Wight for a weekend away, but it wasn't too bad all in all. I wanted to at least try and do some sketching as it has been a few weeks since I haven't done any due to other commitments.
We stayed south of the Island, and visited Ventnor Beach which was where I decided to do a sketch of these lovely beach houses. I don't know what it is about beach houses but they have so much character about them and adds to the Englishness of spring / summer at the seaside. This time I added some colour to the sketch as I really didn't want to miss out on the brightly coloured doors which I thought was important to include.

The other sketches were on the same beach, one being a deckchair which again has a wonderful character of their own and an old wooden seaside step. I do have more sketches on my Facebook page, but I feel these were the best of the bunch and I hope you enjoy them too.
