Different approaches

#paintseptember pencil & wash 20 mins of my
cupboard and guitar
#paintseptember has really put the cat amongst the pigeons in my mind! As if I haven't got enough on my plate at the moment, I am forcing myself to come up with a painting everyday for a month!

Not only have I got to come up with a subject matter that will capture a moment in time or allure my attention, but I am looking at varying ways of applying the image. At the moment, pencil, pen and watercolour seem to be working well as it gives me the time to take down visual information. I have set myself time limits with the daily sketch and #paintseptember the pencil / pen sketches around 15 - 20 mins and with the paintings 20 - 30 mins max. This way it keeps each piece raw, forcing me to try and take down the important parts of what I want to communicate.

The pic on the left is a cupboard in my house. Again something I don't normally just look and stare at! But when posed with the situation such as #paintseptember then you start looking! I would liked to have spent longer on this piece as I am not entirely happy with it, but I just have to remember it is a sketch and a visual diary in its own right.
