Look into the light

September has been a very creative month indeed, more so than August. #drawaugust and #paintseptember on twitter have helped me to move further into finding a theme for my painting. The picture above is a 3hr study of my daughter Poppy. I have always been fascinated with light and dark, cool and warm approaches to painting. I want to explore this further and I will be painting a series of larger paintings over the coming months. My plan is to do a mini exhibition of the work once they are completed.

I am still ongoing with #thedailysketch and some artists on twitter are also taking part. This is a great way to share work and push each other along with like minded individuals.

#paintseptember was also a great way of applying colour information in a short space of time. 

I found that ink and wash worked best. With this in mind I will continue to work in this manner and hopefully try and sell a few prints in the process which I am setting up soon.
